Member Privileges

Arirrki members will be offered privileges for their membership. These will change from time to time and depend on financial position. privileges may include reduced costs on vehicle repairs, household items and the like. Support of school expenses not covered by other agencies. It may also extend to helping with emergency expenses. Arirrki will assist with some costs related to gaining employment etc.

Arirrki Aboriginal Corporation holds the rights to refuse requests that seem excessive or that are covered under other agencies. It may also ask for partial payment on some expense items. Arirrki will also act to provide non financial aid, it terms of seeking legal or medical advice for family members when needed. Financial Community support is only extended to those members living on Groote Eylandt, and the surrounding archipelago. Those members living in major centre such as darwin, Cairns, Katherine, or Gove may not be extended financial help.

How to Apply

Community support maybe extended to the immediate family, living with the Arirrki members. Once dependants have left home, they should seek a Director out for a membership form and join in their own name. membership forms can be down loaded form here (form to be uploaded) potential members must be able to prove they are related to the Lalara Clan and are descendants of “Old Mick Lalara” and one of the five Lalara member families. Applications will be decided by the Board of Directors and be published on the ORIC website.
